Carnevale

Apart from special carnevale snacks and confetti, Florence doesn't seem to do too much to celebrate, so we headed for Venice to see what was what. It turns out the Venetians take these things seriously.

We saw some traditional costumes...

We saw some flora...

...and fauna...

...and combinations of the two.

The ecclesiastical hierarchy was represented...

...as well as the holy (and unholy) orders.

And this dude had the best... mustache?

This dude had the best non-functional hot-air-balloon...

...but there was a functional one, too.

Carnevale is ongoing, and the prize for the best costume is awarded today. Tough competition!

Yes, I want pictures of E & J! Those are amazing. And as always, your narration is priceless.

Great pictures. Did people pose for you?

I'll put up a photo of our carnevale masks, but don't get too excited...

And yes... they totally pose. And the fancier your camera, the more they show off for you!
